We survived the week!

Last week was so hectic! If you see the post below you will see why! I am so tired today plus! Friday went great! Kalob had his hip hop class. They are doing this awesome dance to Come Together (the Micheal Jackson version). We rushed home just in time to take pictures of Eric and his date for homecoming! She was actually pulling up at the same time we were! She is adorable and really sweet! She drove cause Eric does not have his licence yet! Then she took him back to meet her parents! Plus her brother wanted to meet him cause Eric does so well with the stock markets at school and he wanted to know how he did it! lol! Eric at the start of it had $100,00 fake dollars and ended up a few weeks later with over $300,000! Even the teacher wanted to find out how Eric did so well! Steven's appointments went alright. He closed 3 deals which is really good but he needs a few more to make his goal. The quarter is over for the kids! WOOHOO! A much needed break for all of us! I think I am going to look for a new job. I am bored at home and we could use a little extra money! So I am trying to find something while the kids are in school. I used to be a sales leader at Bath and Body Works. I loved it there but it was too far away. There is a new one opening up close by next month so maybe I will check there. I also might try the new Target near there too. Today we have a little presentation in primary on prayer. So we are going to have the kids talk about a time that they said prayers when they were scared or needed an answer. The kids really like that idea too. I hope that you are all doing well! HUGS!!

This week so far...

has been busy. Sunday Eric blessed the sacrament for the first time! It was so awesome to see him up there and to hear him! Kalob was in the primary presentation and did awesome! He had a part to speak and was even in a group of 10 kids who sang We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet. It went very well. Our 11 year old class did great too! We brought them treats for behaving so well. We had a fun time in class too. We did not plan a lesson cause we had so much going on. So we played games and talked. Then we came home and Eric finished packing for his triip to Prescott. He was only going for 2 days so he did not have to much more to pack. We made hamburgers on the grill. YUM!! I do not know why but things taste so much better barbecued!! So then Monday I got up at 5:30 am and got ready for the day and took Eric to school cause he was leaving that morning for Presecott. Then I took Kalob to school. I came home did laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I had to take a small nap cause I did not sleep well the night before. Then I got Kalob from school. Kalob does not have any homework this week! WOOHOO! It is the last week of the quarter! Time is going by so fast! Then I decided to go through paperwork! I have a basket in the kitchen where all the bills go and it got piled up. I went through and found all the new bills and filed the others. I fed Kalob dinner and Steven brought him and I home dinner so that we could have a mini date while watching the new season of Heroes. Today Eric comes home and Steven has 4 appointments! The last week of the month is the most stressful for Steven. But the week especially cause of Erics trip, Kalob's parent teacher conference, homecoming carnival, game, Eric's first homecoming dance and Kalob's hip hop class! Steven has 15 appointments for this week too! I am just praying that we get through this week without any more stress than that! Wish us luck!!! Hope you all are having a terrific week!!!

Steven's Birthday!

A few days ago was Steven's b-day! I have not written in my blog in a few days cause we have been extremley busy! Well, the barbecue was our gift to Steven for his special day! I had the day planned. There was no place to put the bbq before his b-day so I didn't plan to pick it up till then. Steven was supposed to have a few appointments that day, so after I took the kids to school I was going to pick it up and come home and make the cake. Lani even offered to help me pick it up with her van cause my car is small. My day did not turn out that way. Steven woke up to a message saying his first appt. canceled. Ok, no problem I will just go pick up the bbq a little later. Then another appt. and another canceled! So, Steven has the day free! I was not sure what to do! Kalob even asked, "mom what are you going to do?" So,I decided that he should just come with me and we could make a day of it! We went to a few places trying to find the best deal and the best grill for our family. Steven has never had a barbecue before! He has always wanted one but we were always unable to get one. He found one he really likes and it was priced very reasonable. It even has a burner on the side so he can cook rice or veggies! We had to take it out of the box to fit it in the car! LOL! Then we were able to have lunch together! I brought him home and he put together the bbq while I picked up the kids from school. Then he cooked steaks for us! They were the best steaks ever!! He was so happy and excited to use the grill! He was like a little kid with a new toy! We are planning on using it Saturday night to make chicken. We would tonight but we are so busy! Kalob has hip hop, Eric has a ceremony for being Vice President of FBLA. And somewhere in there we have to have Primary practice for Sunday! Not sure how we are going to pull this off! Or have time for dinner! LOL! As Tim Gunn says from Project Runway we have to "Make it work!" LOL!

Craft Project With Kalob

Isn't this cute! Saturday Steven and Eric were out running errands together so Kalob and I decided we wanted to do something. Well, the other day when I went to the scrapbook store with Lani I got stuff to make this! Kalob and I made this together! It was so much fun! Kalob glued everything that needed to be glued. I thought it turned out really adorable! I was going to put paper on the letters but decided to make them look old instead. I really like the colors cause they are not girlie! With a house of boys nothing pink is allowed! LOL!! Steven then helped me put the ribbon on when he came home. Not bad since I did not have any directions!!

Church and Politics(This may be a long read)

WARNING: These are my thoughts and may be offending to some

Yesterday was church. Steven and I teach the 11 year olds in our ward. Well, yesterday was practice for the primary program that is next weekend.First, it is very unorganized. The seating is horrible. The classes are split up and some of the kids do not even have an adult in their area! The whole time Steven and I were trying to get the kids to be reverent. Not possible when other teachers are just looking away not even paying attention or their head down with their hands over their ears! Even the older kids were acting up. We have a few rowdy kids in our class, but compared to some of the other kids they were angels! The person in charge of this we could not even see cause she was on the other side. So one side of the kids did not even stand up when they were supposed to. I came home in tears because there was no spirit in the chapel what so ever! I felt like it should be outside and not in the chapel. Some of the kids were hitting eachother and bouncing in the seats. The teachers were even sitting next to some of these kids and did nothing! I really feel that parents now do not teach their own children how to behave! They let them do whatever they want! There is supposed to be another practice Friday evening. Steven is trying to not set any appointments so that he can go with me. I do not even want to go and I think that is so sad! After that some friends of ours starting asking questions to Eric about politics. People come to Eric because he knows so much! Which is not surprising because he wants to enter politics after college. Anyway, they were asking who Eric would vote for if he could vote,Eric is only 16 by the way. So Eric tells them and I think they were a little shocked. I told myself that I would not talk to people about this kind of stuff cause it just causes problems. But I have to say that I trust no one. I feel like I need to pick the lesser of 2 evils. I am trying to do research on all of them. Well, as Eric was talking to this couple about everything from the election to global warming these 2 older gentlemen came out and started laughing because people were getting advice from a 16 year old. You know what, some Eric's teachers ask his advice and some even tell him to run for President when he is older! This is something Eric is very passionate about and learns the facts before making any assumption on anything regarding this country! If they stopped to listen they would hear that Eric even told them to get a book that Eric loves and that both parties feel is true and accurate. That book is What You Should Know About Politics...But Don't by Jessamyn Conrad. People have asked Eric for an appt. before the election to find out about things and the first thing he tells them is to get that book. I was offended that some people were laughing at him because I feel that some adults do not listen to children. I think that kids have a lot of important things to say and if people listened more to kids then the world would be a better place to live!

Fun With Lani!

Thursday was a really fun day! I went to Lani's house after I took the kids to school! We hung out for a while at her house. I got to play with Noah, the cutest little baby boy! Then we went to the Scrapbook Barn and looked around for ideas! We then met mom at the Q-T for something to drink. Then Lani took us to Hobby Lobby! Mom and I had never been there before. It was awesome! It's like a Joanne's Etc. and a home decor store all in one! They even had Christmas stuff out! I only saw half the store, but what I saw of it I loved! We had to get back to her house cause I had to to pick up my car to pick up the boys from school. I really have a lot of fun when I am with Lani! She is such a good listener and always makes me laugh! The rest of the day was helping Kalob with homework and reading the first Harry Potter. Kalob is really starting to get into the bigger chapter books. Then we had dinner as a family. I love when Steven is able to come home in time for dinner. He works so many hours sometimes that it is usually the kids and I at dinner. So Thursday was a very good day!!

Yesterday

Photobucket Image Hosting
Well, yesterday was a great day! Steven went in a little late to work. He took the kids to school for me and brought home breakfast! He is the best husband in the world! It was so nice to have breakfast just him and I. Then later that evening he met me at Eric's school cause we had to pick out announcements for Eric's graduation. We just went and saw everything that we needed to get for him. Oh and we need to order is cap and gown as well. This is such an exciting year! Then Steven and I went to Target and walked around just having a fun! I have so much fun shopping with Steven. When we go grocery shopping we usually have to get 2 carts and we race in the store! I know it is silly but, oh so much fun! We may be in our 30's but it is still fun to act like a kid!! LOL!! Then when we got home we had dinner together just us! I had already fed the kids before we went to Eric's school. Then after Kalob went to bed we watched the last episode of Supernatural. It was such a wonderful day!

Supernatural

supernatural
Ok, I do not know if anyone watches Supernatural, I do! I love it! I do not know why but I have always loved vampire and demon legends! So this show is awesome if you love that stuff! Steven and I watch this after the kids go to bed. It is our little thing that we do together! We started watching it a while ago. It is on after Smallville but we would not watch it cause we did not want to scare Kalob. So we got the seasons and we love them and it is so much better without commercials! Plus the the guys are totally hot so that helps too! LOL!! I get scared sometimes watching it! LOL!! So if you have young kids I would not watch it if they are in the room!
